Santa Monica Seafood Co. is seeking a skilled Production Supervisor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure the health and safety of employees and the production area by collaborating with the site Environmental Health & Safety Manager, aiming for zero incidents.

• Oversee production processes to maintain and enhance quality, efficiency, key performance indicators (KPIs), and cost-effectiveness.

• Continuously refine product quality and client satisfaction by implementing customer-oriented strategies.

• Achieve a superior order fulfillment rate of 98.5% or more, surpassing customer expectations in service delivery and product quality.

• Uphold compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).

• Assess employee performance, communicate effectively with staff, and suggest improvement strategies for work efficiency.

• Conduct training programs to ensure staff are proficient in their duties.

• Lead initiatives for ongoing improvement in plant operations—identify projects that boost productivity while minimizing costs.

• Oversee departmental productivity, including tasks like receiving goods, inspecting deliveries, preparing finished products per company standards/customer specifications. Address out-of-stock scenarios appropriately by selecting alternatives. Optimize product use based on shelf life (FIFO), prevent substandard products from reaching clients, ensure proper packaging/handling to reduce damage/distress. Manage work-in-progress inventory efficiently while maintaining cleanliness/sanitation in the department. Maintain production records/compliance documentation; coordinate equipment maintenance with Maintenance Dept.; manage safety protocols adhering to Cal/OSHA regulations; develop KPIs/objectives/goals/strategies/measures (OGSMs) along with individual/team performance reviews; facilitate new hire orientations/evaluations.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Highly motivated individual capable of inspiring/training others effectively.

• Preferred: Associate's or bachelor's degree.

• Strong communication/interpersonal/problem-solving/organizational skills essential for achieving results collaboratively.

• Knowledgeable about food safety/cGMPs; HACCP certification advantageous.

• Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish preferred; strong command over English language both written/oral necessary .High proficiency required across Microsoft Office applications alongside experience using computer databases/report generation/MRP or ERP Systems .Attention-to-detail coupled with sound decision-making capabilities vital .Self-starter who takes initiative well organized possessing excellent presentation/interpersonal skills able prioritize tasks within department efficiently .One-to-three years supervisory experience within food processing /packaging industries .Seafood industry knowledge preferred .Experience Lean Manufacturing /Six Sigma methodologies plus college degree highly desirable

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

-Able lift/carry items up 50 lbs regularly . -Capable standing long durations often exceeding eight-twelve hours shift . .Work environment typically cold around thirty-five degrees Fahrenheit .Repetitive motions including bending ,reaching twisting involved manual dexterity handling seafood products operating processing equipment necessary
